Low-key, quirky, humourous drama-comedy, focused solely on the commandingly powerful yet controlled performance of Aaron Eckhart as tobacco lobbyist Nick Naylor. "A smart, funny and often perceptive work that bodes well for the future career of screenwriter/director Jason Reitman."
- Jeff Vice (Deseret News, Salt Lake City)
"Perhaps the film's greatest success is in its ability to have us fall so madly in love with such a morally reprehensible lead character."
- Joe Utichi (FilmFocus)
"Thank You For Smoking is not big, or great, or earth-shattering, but it is exceedingly rare -- an astute and witty comedy that will make adults laugh."
- Gary Thompson (Philadelphia Daily News)
Thank You for Smoking is certainly relevant; i appreciate the fact that it gets into more than just the morality of smoking
